Sharon Chu

PIANO, VOICE, THEORY/HISTORY

Sharon is a third-year student at the University of British Columbia majoring in music and psychology. She began piano and voice training from the age of five and attained ABRSM grade 8 (equivalent to RCM 10) in both instruments. Recently, she has been specializing in the pipe organ.

Sharon grew up with lots of choral singing experiences. As a former member of the Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus, Sharon took part in major roles of multiple musical theatres including Hansel and Gretel (Witch) and King Arthur (Philadel) and participated in professional opera productions including Tosca and Othello. Above all, she enjoys making music with other people. She has been volunteering at school and church choirs as a pianist and organist. Today, she continues her passion for music as a member of the Choral Union and Chamber Choir at UBC. With her love for music, Sharon strives to inspire everyone to learn and appreciate how wonderful music can be.
